JC, If you want the best grinder value, go for the recently re-issued Kitchenaid grinder. For $120-150, it can't be beat. I read the other posts on this subject, and assume those are Italian manufactured grinders of good quality. I have no idea of their quality, I'm sure they must be good. However, I bet the Kitchenaid one smokes them all in both quality and durability. It will certainly out perform them all. These grinders were built like a battleship when they were designed back in the 1920's. They were sold through the 40's. I gave up grinding beans several years ago due to the price increase for unground beans. I'm thinking of going back, and being able to get a new one of these is a factor. Go to a Store and examine one. Check out the massive Burr grinders. Simply pick it up. The heavy weight is basically the massive motor. Check out the ratcheting grind adjustment. It holds a full pound of beans plus some in its'airtight glass holing jar. There simply isn't any other grinder on the market designed so well. The best by far, thanks for bringing it back Kitchenaid.
