Examples of reflector HID's include Volvo S60R/V70R/XC90, Last-generation Acura TL, Nissan Maxima.
Examples of Projector HID's include any BMW with HID's, Saab 9-3SS and 9-5 when equipped with HID's.
"Bi-Xenon" refers to HID's that also have a high beam setting. In normal filament bulbs, there are two filaments -- one for low beam, one for high beam. That isn't really workable in an HID because unlike filaments, HID's need about 10-20 seconds to heat up and reach their operating temperature (and brightness), so you can't have two separate sets of electrodes for the HID's. Many HID's couple the HID low beam with a separate filament high beam (I think BMW 3 and 5 series have this setup), which usually works well. Some are "bi-xenon", meaning the HID buld serves as both low and high beam -- usually by tilting the housing up a few degrees to raise the beam (e.g., Volvo S60R/V70R) or by removing a shield over the top of the beam (VW and Saab HID's) so the beam can spread further down the road.
I really like HID's and may never go back to ordinary, although many projector style filament bulbs do very well.
