So, along time ago someone asked me to post pictures of how I connected my iPod in my 2000 Saab 9-3. Well 2 months later, I got around to it, thanks to the new Canon SD200 Elph my GF bought me for my birthday.
Essentially, it is a Sony headunit, with an AUX input that I ran out with a Monster cable minijack to RCA out, then I got this lame looking cell phone holder (Type-S..."S" being for stupid) that fits on the Saab vents but does an amazing job at holding my iPod. Grand total I spent about $220 bucks, including instalation, at of all places, BestBuy, which did a remarkable job, they used a VW harness to connect it, and the the storage space (the little pocket) is a custom sized Taurus filler, because they couldnt get the European Saab single din radio pocket I bought to fix. Oh and I replaced the sweet stock speakers a year ago with better ones. The Sony headunit looks lame, and has sweet (read lame) abilities to change to one of 8 differnt colors. But, it works and since I am a college student I cant afford the neato Clarion headunit and iPod kit which allows you to control the iPod through the stereo. Yes, I lost functionality of the steering wheel buttons, but they didnt work half the time anyways so technically I didnt lose them.
Also, posted some pictures of my wheels, 17" Tri-Spoke Quads (think Gary Fisher 9-5 wagon...but damn are they sweet on a 9-3). I will get some more pictures when it is daylight and post them.
Ahhh, finals week!
