I am tempted to say fork-mount -
BECAUSE about 2 years ago I had a upright on an old VW i had. I was driving about 80 mph down the highway and my (then) $1600 dollar Pro-Flex 855 went careening of the rack and over a gully. Needless to say, it wasn't rideable that day... but luckily no major damage to the bike. That speaks for durability taking a digger at 80. I'll never forget looking in the rear view mirror as my precious bike tumbled over and over again.
argh!
