When I had a problem, I explored the situation on University of Minnesota's website. Since they're an agricultural school, they devote quite a bit of research to mice and such due to the damage they can do regarding stored crops. Mice only travel 10 to 30 feet from their den during their entire 13 month existence. Since there aren't any crops at issue, you'll have to do two things. Find their food source and make sure you poison it. If you can't find a food source, place poison near their nesting areas. They usually feed at night. And seeing has how they are prolific breeders, it doesn't take long for another litter.....they have an extremely short gestation period and are mature enough for breeding at about three months of age. Unfortunately, there is a great chance that once poisoned, they will die back in the nesting area, which happens to be your cars. When my kids started to drive some years ago, I bought a friend's Hyundai so they didn't have to learn on the family Saabs. One of these mice died somewhere in the ventilation system of the Hyundai. WOW.....as if the entire Hyundai experience wasn't unpleasant enough!!!!!
