She shuld see her doctor, especially if fatigued. Even a 15 pound weight gain may be enough to cause the problem of sleep apnea.
I had a sleep test and had apnea. I use a CPAP and it was like getting a new life. I felt refreshed in the morning, etc. Do not use an OTC nasal spray as this can cause greater congestion and post nasal drip.
Good luck. Erik's post ir right on target there are other implications of apnea. Fatigue begets lethargy and inactivity, which can add to weight, and becomes a bad cycle.
