I've been there twice in the past 4 years, and I'm going back for a week in March. Seems the airlines are having fare wars now and I got a pretty sweet deal. $775 for 2 round trip tix from San Francisco on American Airlines. So, 17" rims on the 9-3 will have to wait [SAAB content :) ], I'd rather take a nice vacation with the wife.
We plan to rent a Rav4 kinda 4x4 and book hotels in advance. We're looking for places to go and things to do.
Where have y'all been in Costa Rica? What did you like about it? Would you do it again?
I've been to: Cauhita (carribean side coastal town), Monteverde, Arenal/Tabacon Springs, Jaco Beach, and San Jose. We did white water rafting somewhere on the western side, too. I've never been to: Manuel Antonio, Tortuguero, or Tamarindo/Nicoya.
Is the pacific as swimmer unfriendly as Jaco? I recall it had bad riptides and was more for surfers than swimmers. I forget if it was cold. I really liked swimming and boogie boarding on the carribean side!
