OT: What to do with deadbeat auction seller? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 14 Feb 2005 08:13:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just received a note from the seller stating that he is "unable to go through with" selling me a nice, but somewhat obscure, guitar that I won on a famous online auction site, claims that the item "belongs to his parents" and they don't want him to sell it. He also claims that he was unable to cancel the auction before it ended (10 day auction!!!), but managed to send his note about 15 minutes after the fact, which by the way occurred at about 1:00 am Central time (he's in California). I stayed up late bidding, and am not happy about this. I guess that he didn't get what he was planning on, now has seller's remorse. By the way, he has 37 reported auctions under his belt, 100% feedback, he's not a newbie.
What are my remedies? I am reluctant to give this guy negative feedback for fear of reprisal on my 100% positive record. Anything else I can do?
