It can be quite annoying to watch a movie on a DLP projector if you are. Some people can't see them at all, and some are bothered by even expensive DLP projectors with fast color wheels. Unfortunately I'm in the latter group. I've been looking at various projectors and even models that are far out of my price range have the effect :(
Fortunately there are some very good LCD projectors out now. For example the Sony VPL-HS51 is pretty amazing. With HD sources or using only the HDMI/DVI interface it has at least as good a picture as the BenQ you mentioned. The less expensive Panasonic PT-AE700 and Sanyo PLV-Z3 also provide a lot of bang for the buck.
Before buying a DLP projector, make sure you don't see any rainbows. To test for it, quickly move your focus back and forth from one end of the projected image to the other.
