for the auto, and the non turbo does better. Thats much better than barely cracking 20. FWIW, the Saab 9-5 wagon auto is rated 19 city and 28 highway.
My dad does better on the highway w/his sub outback auto than I do w/ my 9-5 standard, if HIS numbers are to be believed.
Of course I think his numbers are inflated, since he does very random checks when they are in long trip mode, and tend to keep it at 65mph and down. On my 9-5, I check every tank, and have a much heavier foot with not too many all highway runs.
Over I'll see 27-28mpg on the SID if the driving is very highway weighted; did see over 30 on the SID once when my wife had spelled me for a couple of hours (she's a 65-70 mph kinda gal) on a trip back from NC. Real calculations are mid 20's for me with all the miles figured in...
So the Subie is fairly comparable in town to the saab. I'd rather have the saab, but the new sub's are a lot nicer than the last rendition, and they are less $$, too.
