Little kids on PCs - What a mess!

My 6 and 4 year old girls have become computer game fanatics. Disney, Barbie, Scooby etc. Some of the games they play are local others are available through various web sites. I now run Spyware daily and find all kinds of garbage. My real problem, though, beyond hardware breakage (lost speaker knobs, routers getting kicked, falling mouses etc.) is how they manage to change settings, defaults and freeze the PC up. Would setting them up as a non-admin user help? I would like, when they sign on, them to have their own choice of limited programs and no ability to make any changes. Suggestions are welcome. I use XP Home. Also, if I buy them their own PC, what is good for kids? Something indestructable! TIA!
