SAAB is also considering marketing a South Korean Daewoo as the 9-1. To save money, practically nothing will be changed except the grill and the key location. The bean counters think that the key location will make old 900 owners giddy!
In an effort to bring new SAAB models at any cost (or lack of cost), the 9-4 is not far behind. The Chevy Cobalt was designed so that a SAAB grill can be snapped into place. It's key is also in the center console. The newest SAAB will be the only SAAB to offer advanced rear drum brakes.
On the drawing board, but not close to market is the SAAB 9-0. Built in Red China, it's a re-badged Geely Merrie.
