What surprised me was... Posted by Misplacedyankee [Email] (#1756) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Misplacedyankee) on Sat, 2 Apr 2005 16:31:04 In Reply to: New head of Saab Cars USA, Eric, Sat, 2 Apr 2005 07:23:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
What surprised me when reading a few articles on this topic was Kelly-Ennis' previous experience before taking the job at GM...I hadn't known that she had never worked in the auto industry prior to 1998 when she joined GM. Seems odd to appoint someone as the head of Saab after a few years in the industry. Prior to GM she was a marketing person from Nabisco or somebody - this job actually takes her back to her roots. I know its good to get some outside talent, even in other industries, but not sure if she was the right fit after learning that - certainly risky. Since I did not personally know her this is clearly just a hypothesis.
I think this move will be good for Saab. Its always good to change things up now and again and breathe some fresh ideas. Better marketing will certainly help as will a few more models and a fresh 9-5.
