Registration renewal question... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Fri, 22 Apr 2005 08:55:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello, everyone. I just got my registration renewal papers in the mail, but I'm debating as to whether or not I should renew my registration. My current car tags expire on the last day of May and I will be moving to another state at the beginning of July. The fee to register a vehicle in my state and county is quite expensive, so I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet, pay up, and waste 11 months of good registration, or if I can get away with skipping a month.
I realize I could go ahead and renew my registration and then keep those tags on the car in my new state, but I believe it is illegal to have a car insured in one state and registered in another. I've never been pulled over for anything, but there is a first time for everything, so there is a possibility of getting a ticket. Would a ticket like that harm my flawless driving record, or would it just be a fix-it ticket?
I don't want to sound cheap by seeing if I can work around the system, as I will certainly renew my registration if that's what needs to be done. I don't know many folks who wouldn't mind saving a buck here and there, though. Anyway, I appreciate any feedback that you may have, and please feel free to let me know if you need additional information or clarification. Thanks in advance for the input. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
