I would go back and ask to speak to the owner. Politely explain the situation and then tell him you would be happy to hook up the voltmeter and show him the 14.8 volt output reading.
Then ask him to remove the $78 MIS-diagnosed alternator charge.
If he says no and you paid by CC, then tell him you are going to deny the entire charge at your CC until it gets straigtened out. Oh ans you will also be calling Saab USA for to report the matter
Its the principal of the thing. People are supposed to get better service from their dealers not get the shaft.
The service dept already thinks you are a push over, and maybe the owner will too. But you shouldn't have to pay for that treatment.
