places so you can at least see something 8-) ? I just list places I know here:
San Francisco (make sure you don't call it Frisco, plenty to do and take the ferry to Sausalito if you have the time, if not, take a helicoper ride 8-), Google Helicopter tour in San Francisco, not cheap but you save more time and see a lot more from above). You can do the usual, Golden Gate Bridge, drive over it, stop at the other side where all the tour buses go... then go down to Sausalito, have lunch, come back over the bridge and see Palace of Fine Arts, and Exploratorium. Have dinner at Fisherman's Wharf, Pier etc.., drive down Lombard and up Coit Tower (nice to do at night time too).
Alcatraz (it's pretty much a one day tour, check the tour intervals)
Muir Woods (by the time you walk anywhere, at least half a day), yes big trees 8-).
CA Railroad Museum in Sacramento (more than half a day, maybe a quick stop on way to Yosemite ?)
Yosemite (it's a long drive and you can't see much in less than a day. It covers a very big area, may want to over night there).
Big Sur (unless there is a reason, you get better views driving along Highway 1 and just stop by any beach). Go up Ventana Inn and you get a better view while eating lunch (just Google the name).
Carmel (I would add Monterey Bay Aquarium and Pacific Grove area, may want to stay over night as well. You can do B&B if so desired, do it on a weekday not weekend however).
You will be visiting all my favorite places in California, have fun, yes, see if you could drop by and see Scott on your way to Carmel 8-).
Please post some pics after you trip.
