Just got Tiger today. Installation was fast, all my preferences were moved, same for my e-mails, bookmaks. It was painless. Tiger speed is a bit faster than Panther, not that much. Stability and compatibility is there.
Spotlight is very fast and very well organized. Dashboard is nice (had many freewares before but dashboard is clever). Safari read RSS. What really amazed me is the RSS screensaver. WOW! what a show! Reading the news like that, you almost forget about the news and you just look at the effect.
There's some new desktop pictures (very nice) and some gorgeous black and white pictures. It is disturbing to see a black and white picture on your desktop.
Apple got better today. It won't stop there.
This is not a must have, Panther was really good. But Tiger is the future.
Apart for some graphic intensive games, I don't understand why people are still buying windows pc's. A G5 with VirtualPC will take you anywhere you want. In my case I need some windows softwares (financial and tax report). Windows 2000 pro is up in 20 sec and I can switch between both platform with a mouse clic.
Michel :-)
