Why are dads always put down?

Take a look at the article below. Here are some snippets:
"Dads are taking on more parenting duties -- and kids are better for it even if their clothes don't always match."
"'No way -- I'm not genetically programmed to match outfits and do ponytails,' [the dad] said."
"In other words, ignore the crooked ponytails and don't worry if the whites and darks all get mixed together."
Why is it that dads are made out to be morons? How hard can it be to match/wash clothes and make ponytails (put it this way -- I can make a ponytail, and I've only seen it done once; it's not rocket science; and I'm single!).
I resent the fact that dads are portrayed as idiots. True, dads might not care that girls dress in all lavender or pink, but I think that's obscene anyway. I can remember my mother dressing my brother and I in outfits that looked exactly alike -- well, I HATED that as a child (and would never under any circumstance do the same to my kids). I personally think that dads are just different than moms. Both dads and moms have good points and bad points.
Why couldn't this lady concentrate on what was important -- that her kids aren't necessarily ruined because they go to daycare? Why does she have to imply that dads are substandard caregivers?
