News to me. Where did you find this out? This is indeed big news if so.

I've driven a Trailblazer more than I would have cared too, my point was why did SAAB start with a platform that CHEVY itself was in the process of phasing out. I had the opportunity to behold the 9-7x last week at the Rennaisance Center in Detroit and I will NEVER accept that beast as a SAAB. The 9-2x I swallowed... the 9-7x?

At best I accept it as something that may ensure my 900's parts will stay in production longer.

All things considered (like german manf.) , the 2.3T I4 is more SAAB (has been a part of SAAB's line-up longer and designed by the swedes) than any other engine they have ever built. My 1997 900SE performs very similarily to my father's 2.3T in his 04 9-5, in fact they share many of the same parts, like the C900 before it.

It just seems out of place to bump the HP of a 'tried and true' powerplant above the latest offering, almost like SAAB is admitting the defeat of robust, fuel effeicient and torquey 4 cylinders. "Find your own road", right SAAB?

I just don't want to see the Turbo I4 fade away. To me, and no doubt many who read this, it's the most impressive engine manufactured ever. Period.

You could build the 2.3T in Afghanistan or Zimbabwe, its still an original, unique and amazing SAAB tradmark that will keep me buying.

{Sorry if I am cranky, its 2:30am and I just came in from R&Ring my busted Scantech strut mount and my knuckles are dripping blood.}
