The 2.8 turbo V6 was originally supposed to be 280hp+ but now that it's close to production its output magically matches the HOT 2.3.
Furthermore, the 2006 9-5 will get an incremental bump to 260hp just to keep it at the top of the heap. I guess AWD in the 9-3SS also would have upended the heirarchy.
Thanks, GM marketing, now I'm no longer confused about which car is "better" (I'm sure Audi, Infiniti, etc. are also appreciative of GM's wisdom). God forbid that people would think that the 9-7x is "better" than the Escalade.
