I have an MCE 2005 system at home - HP system - use with an HP MCX and an Xbox MCX. Came with MCE 2004 over a year ago. Works great, aside from an infrequently flaky ATI TV card... Hauppauge cards are much better from what I've read.
The one caveat if you are building your own - MCE is indeed VERY fussy about what tuner and video cards it plays well with... but your tuner card should be fine.
