if not, I don't see a problem .. just boot into windows98 and copy whatever personal data into that partition then just clean up windows 2000 and re-install it if you must have it. that's the lazy approach but it's a good viable solution.
Another way would be to use a windows 2000 recovery CD.
or to manually troubleshoot the corrupted registry by manually over-writing the offending files, get it to boot, then use a windows registry repair sw. It's not fun but not impossible.
