I didn't care too much for SS, so I didn't pay attention... I missed it.
Anyway, like taurus-sho said, you can get EPA testing done to an imported car. It's alot easier to import the car that's been owned/used for a year. If it's a year old, than it's considered as personal effect and importing process becomes alot easier. At worst, you can't register it legally to drive, but you can have it sit in your garage legally. So if you got a army buddy or someone in overseas, they can used it for a year before importing than it can be done easily. A lot of international moving company can arrange that (legally register) for you, since they have to do it to gasoline cars as well. I seen few RH cars here too and that's awesome. That's what I would go for if I had an option. British Diesel!
