Although you do go into the freezer less and therefore it would make sense to have it at the bottom, it really doesn't work that way for me. Here's why:
Usuall, freezer on top frides, in the regular part, the pull out drawers are at the bottom (veggies, etc.). Those are easy to access cause they just pull out. With the freezer at the bottom, you almost have to get on your stomach to get stuff out of the back. And the most annoying part is making ice, i end up spilling have the water all over teh floor putting the trays down there.
My house came with the fridge, so i won't complain, and it works (food is cold, hey) but if I could pick I would get a side by side or top freezer.
It may be more efficient, not sure of that. it would make sense, right, since cold air sinks.
