Grab a stick Aero, if you can still find one, that's the sweetest set up, the stick to work that high strung (contrary to standard high torque Swedish *Saab* turbo practice) 2.0 turbo.
A Linear is no slouch, except when compared to the Aero. A 2.5 liter 165hp motor is pretty robust in the class. The Linear is better suited to the automatic as the Aero's turbo doesn't respond very well at lower RPMs vs the 2.5 liter's "N.A." good low end punch.
Aeros get the nicer ACC set up, the 6 disc in dash setup, the hood scoop and an extra piece of foam insulation in the spare tire compartment. Haven't "A-B'd" the Linear and Aero setups back to back to see if they're different.
Linears do run on 87, no premium required. Aeros are premium only cars.
