. . . but our chances are better than for the average car. At the correct speed, the moose's legs will be knocked out from under it to have the body of said moose come through the windshield. Then it's not so much the collison as the wildly thashing hooves you have to be mindful of. This is with a nearly 2000 pound (900 kg) animal laying in your lap. There was a post of this exact thing happening in earlier times.
All of these are great reasons to keep your headlights working properly & aimed properly, and taking NO chances with a moose standing next to the road. They don't have a very high IQ, so will do the stupidest thing at the last moment.
