The car was a pre-airbag 900 (this was in the early 80s) and he walked away without a scratch. He was going about 70, saw the moose run out (up in the boonies of NH) and was able to brake to about 50 (estimated). Just like the moose test pics, the moose sort of squatted up over the windshield and hit right where the roof panel and the windshield meet. Scary experience, but he got out of the car walked away fine. The car was totalled, but he, his wife and his daughter still drive Saabs today.
