Saab advise (long)

Hello all and thanks in advance for your feedback. I am a previous lesee of a 2002 9-3 SE. I turned it in about 6 months ago b/c of many mechanical issues:
ie: Constant stalling, replaced digital face 4 times, constant hatchback rattles that dealer could not fix.
Basically, I became so fed up with these issues on a new $30k car that I ended up driving my around town beater which is a 96 Saturn and was much more reliable.
Now hears the catch. I absolutely love the way the Saab drove when it was trouble free. It was a blast w/ lots of cargo space and great gas mileage to boot.
All this brings me to this question. I need to buy a 2nd car (primary vehicle is a ultra reliable 02 Honda Accord that the wife drives) & am willing to spend between $10-14k and I really want to give a Saab another chance. I'm looking at both the 9-5 & 9000 Aero. Objectively, I'm I just asking for more mechanical headaches or are these vehicles more or less reliable then the 9-3? Please note that outside of oil changes and basic tune-ups, I am not mechanically inclined.
