It's illegal to park an unregistered car on the street overnight. Temporarily on the street during the day I think is OK. Yard vs. driveway, I don't know, but if it's on your property, you should be able to park anything you want (I bet there is a limit to the number of vehicles allowed depending on your zoning situation, but two seems entirely reasonable for a residence). There are unregistered cars stashed in driveways everywhere around here...where else are you supposed to keep them?? We can't all afford big houses with multi-car garages in Wellesley. If it were me, I'd be on the phone with the Traffic and Parking people right now, making a huge stink and trying to make them rescind that ticket. Totally ridiculous.
