I would recommend converting to gas as being a cleaner fuel your maintenance costs will be lower. The gas boilers are often smaller than the oil equivalent and if your oil tank is indoors this can be removed giving you some extra space. A dual fuel boiler could be another alternative as you can then switch to which ever fuel is most economical at that time.
