platform. A car with the status of a SAAB based on an Opel (low status). The laughing stock of the sport sedan world. A few months ago, my boss came over to Europe and was left with an Opel Astra (the 9-3 platform) to rent. His comments were very similar to that article in C&D. He doesn't know about the SAAB/Opel relationship either. Oh, and GM is not being too smart basing a Cadillac on an Opel either...
