My 2000 9-3 got dinged when a friend of my wife backed her SUV into it. Rear quarter panel + tail light had to be repaired. Her insurance paid the repair, but I never considered the drop in resale value. Right now I'm in the process of ordering a SportCombi, so I will be selling my 2000 within a few months. I haven't checked Carfax yet to see if it shows up, but I don't intend to hide it. Is there a rule of thumb for how much a car loses resale value after a body repair?
