Gotta' control inventories for value pricing to work... The answer is one, I do it all here at Continental, sales, finance, used cars, advertising, with the support of Ziggy and John in the business office.
Saab has to control inventories to make value pricing work. Can't have a flood of cars. Getting to that ideal inventory really hurts right now. I've got only two 2006 9-3 sedans left, no verts, nothing new like a SportCombi or Aero, no new 9-5's.
Kinda' reminds me of BMW sales right next door (same company just different building on the same lot) lots and lots of allocation is pre-sold, already got someone's name on the manifest. No problem ordering a BMW as incentives are never on cars folks would order. That could become a big part of the Saab biz, ordered cars, now that without incentives folks know what they're getting up front. It's a different style of retailing and customer handling.
