Could be several differences. Could be the plastic is a different formulation, or the molding results in a thinner wall, or the seams are not sealed to the tolerances needed against the pressures that can be generated by vapours in partially filled containers, or the caps are not made to the same tolerances, or there is no vent spout on the yellow ones.
Or Wal Mart has discovered that they can double their profit with the red dye.
For reasons of safety and keeping my insurance valid however, I think I would skip the yellow containers even if it means swelling the Wal Mart bank account.
