Any advice sure would be appreciated. We have an '04 Rendezvous that has been an electrical PITA since within two weeks of buying it new (so within a few hundred miles of ownership). The Mrs. and I have been extremely patient in all the attempts to get it fixed and have reached the end of our rope. This summer it's been in the shop 9 times for a total of nearly 30 days for the same exact problem. They've replaced: body control module, speakers, the in-dash CD stereo, headlight rheostat, amplifier, ignition switch, run grounding straps, rewired, contacted GM tech support several times (who say they've never run across another Rendezvous with this problem), etc. All repair attempts have been documented and I've been obsessive about documenting all my standard oil/filter/tire rotation maintenance. The electrical discharge sound coming from the speakers occurs even when the car isn't running, and it's been so bad at times we wouldn't park it in the garage overnight. Imagine the sound of light sabers smacking into each other and that's about right. The worst part was recently when they thought they finally had it fixed, only to have it act up a day later on our family vacation (a loonnnggg way from home).
I've met with the main service manager twice and escalated it to GM's customer service to open a ticket. Last Friday, the service manager and I both spoke with GM regarding my ticket number and I was assured a call back by a regional rep, which has yet to happen even after more follow-up attempts on my part yesterday and today.
Seems like I'm taking all the right pills. The dealership has been great about trying everything they can, but it's not fixed and more than once has been *very* distracting when it suddenly occurs while driving. I've never felt that being a jerk got you anywhere, but my patience quotient is dwindling daily. What more should I do?
