I tend to agree. Anyone who purports to service tires & wheels should be able to tell the difference between an acorn seat and a shank/mag seat. It's pretty bleeding obvious. Plus, failing to dismount a really low-profile tire is one thing, but a ~195/60-15 is something you don't even need special equipment for. Wrecking a bead (I'm assuming) on something like that takes a special type of stupid or carelessness.
I would seriously either call Sears HQ or possibly track down the manager and at least make them pay for the tires. Also, be CERTAIN they did not damage the wheels by using the wrong nuts - I have seen lug seats get cracked from people doing the exact same thing. That crack will spread, and it's totally unsafe to drive on.
