Although they recommend the 9-5 for safety as well as reliability, I wouldn't say they exactly "love it" as the 9-5 finished third out of three the last time I read a CR test about it. Typical CR assessment, too rough, too stiff.
Your reflections on the OG9-3's agrees with my experience, no serious problems. Same with 9-5's. Can't say that about the 9-3SS. Lot's of glitches, electronic and software related. Very good mechanically, but who cares if it runs great but flashes "XXXXX Failure - Contact Dealer" for some unfathomable reason. Saab techs weren't quite up to speed on the new electronics either. Others makes don't have these glitches. Why are they tolerated at Saab?
