No, I think the results on the 9-3SS happens to reflect real life performance too and that it's good crash tests are a result of it's overall construction. My post was regarding the other cars on the list where I don't believe the results can be as easily translated to real life safety.
I don't see what you're trying to say with the US vs. Sweden stats thing? First of all big semis and 18 wheelers are a hell of a lot worse to crash with and there are plenty of those in Sweden and rest of Europe. Second, though not as common as in the US, SUVs exist in Sweden too. Third, I didn't talk about stats, I talked about how Saab designs their cars' crash worthiness based on both crash testing and data from real life crashes (black boxes etc).
Why do you ask me if I'd rather crash in an old 900??
