Proud of my SAAB in the snow

In NE last Friday we had a quick little blizzard. It was not really a lot of snow, but it came down VERY fast. Folks were leaving their cars and walking, and around every corner there was at least one car spun out or stuck in the snow. There were lots of Acura TLs in the snow. I guess they sold many this year and the folks are just realizing they need snow tires.
That being said, my 9-3 performed so very well in the snow. I was witness to a few spinouts and was able to safely avoid the other folks. I had no problems with acceleration, visibility, or ability to handle corners. When the snow was washboard in some parts, the suspension kept the tires gripping and kept the car relatively smooth. I didn't even need to use Winter Mode and I do not have traction control. I was lucky to get up my driveway as the snow was 4-5" higher than the belly of my car but I plowed through. Ok, I owe some of this to my Nokian Hakka 2's which are studded and the fact that I went with a skinny snow tire to cut through. The Nokians have 2 seasons behind them so they are not exactly new.
It's just a 1999 9-3 SE auto. I love this car.
