Just picked up a 2004 9-5 linear wagon with 14K miles. Happy. Now the quandary, I have 3 Saabs and need to boil down to 2.
1994 9000 CS (non turbo) with 142K miles, 99% sure it has a blown head gasket. Had a stuck (closed) thermostat and I pushed it the last 5 miles to get my wife home from her ear operation (so I know I overheated it)
New fuel pump (3 weeks ago)
new upper engine mount (4 weeks ago)
new manual linkage vibration isolator (small leak on trany shaft seal)
new Yokahama tires (7K miles on)
new battery (2 months ago)
new radio (1 month ago)
new clutch slave cylinder (6 years ago)
new muffler (2004)
needs climate control thermo fan
needs idle throttle servo (I unhooked this 5 years ago)
needs rear brake attention
squeaky driver’s seat
rear wiper switch keeps coming off
1987 900 (non turbo) with 170K miles
hit a deer at 60 mph (120K miles ago, was it 1990?) fixed at a Rolls Royce certified body shop in DC
never fixed anything major, only CV boots and rear tail light ground
clock doesn’t work
heated seats don’t work
central locking system doesn’t work
new expansion tank/drier and orifice on A/C (5 years ago)
new rear engine seal (3 years ago)
new clutch slave cylinder (1992)
new muffler (2003)
has headliner falling in (creative wood battens holding up)
needs new tires (next 6 months)
needs front brake attention
4 year old battery
passenger side mirror internal linkage needs attention
Will be used primarily for to/from work (8 miles 1 way) when I don’t ride by bicycle. The 9000 would still be good for close family outings.
I put this on 3 boards General, 9000, and 900C, if that is bad etiquette please let me know.
Thoughts/ comments are appreciated.
