The brand is not the thing - oil ratings (as printed on the bottle) and test results are. Make sure the ratings match what Saab says they should be. ACEA A3/B3 is the good one that lets you go all the way to 0W30 (according to my 2001 manual).
I'm sure either brand would do just fine as long as they are both FULL SYNTHETIC and changed at a decent interval with quality oil filter. I use 10k km (6250 miles) with German Castrol 0W30 synthetic.
