If your winter includes actual snow, ice, and salty roads, and you want to keep your baby like new, I'd say leave it at home. Not only do you risk salt-rust on the body and corrosion on every other metal part of the car, you are also at increased risk of being run into by one of those 'invulnerable because I have 4wd' SUV owners.
