Lotsa' nice people selling and managing car dealers, doesn't matter the brand, and it isn't neccesarily better to sell a car you really like or believe in. Conversely there are some real nincompoops to be avoided. Automobile dealers can be small family owned businesses or mega-corps like the Penske owned United Auto Group. Good salesman can make some good money, so so salesman can still do decent.

Honda has a limited range of vehicles to sell vs say, GM Toyota or Ford. Many dealers are multi-line which can work good for networking kinda' sales. High line like Saab, BMW Mercedes and such generally don't have the training programs a GM or Honda dealer might have.

Lotsa' turnover at big dealers so lotsa' built in training programs and micro-management of new sales folks. No degree or exprience required, more about aptitude and attitude. Many dealers prefer to train in-house as training sales as well as product training is an ongoing thing. Even good folks move around, it's an interactive people business and not everyone like you all the time no matter how good of a job you do. Some dealers will train and offer a guarantee for the first couple of months, but that's usually not asscociated with the most desirable jobs availible.

Can you hack straight commission and the nights and weekends of retail hours? The $100k ++ salesguys I know live at the dealer.

If you have the knack you might become a salesmanager in 5-10 years, then a general salesmanager or even General Manager which can pay very well indeed.
