After high school I sold Nissan, Jeep and Volvos for about 2 months. I made a ton of cash, it's really not that hard of a job. The hardest thing is keeping yourself out of a slump. You won't sell a car to everyone. On the other hand, 99% of the people who end up on a car lot are there for a reason.
I quit because I didn't get along with my sales manager (and I really didn't need the job).
Make sure you get at least 2 weeks of pay before you go commission. I had 2 weeks at $500/wk. After two weeks I had 2 weeks at $500 OR my commission, which ever was higher.
You'll learn a lot about car sales, 'tricks' of the trade, etc.
I'd say go for it. You'll likely be there for at least a month, and while you may not love it, you probably won't regret it.
email me if you have any specific questions.
Liam :-)
