There are various programs for this. Have looked into a couple. In NH and MA there is Stevens Driving School, which does a half day course in skids, ABS etc. A similar program is taught at the old Weymouth Naval Air Base.
For about $350 or so you get what seems to be some decent instruction and practice. Want to take my daughter and also go through it myself, maybe my wife, too. The Weymouth one is a better deal if several people from one family are going.
With kids or adults the three of the most important things in driving are attitude, situational awareness, and skills. All can be learned, but most are just glossed over in traditional driver training. Driver's ed teaches kids to pass their state test and how to steer without hitting anything. What is amazing is that is hasn't changed in 40 years.
