No duty or other hitches?... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 26 Jan 2006 12:51:17 In Reply to: Shipping my 9-5 to Sweden, GC, Thu, 26 Jan 2006 12:01:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm curious as to the laws that allow one to import a car to Sweden. Are you a US or Swedish citizen, or both? Is this a one time exemption for a personal vehicle or can you do it a certain number of times? Will there by a duty or tax? Are there any emmissions or safety requirements that need to be met before registration. I assume you own the car outright and there's no lease or financing involved.
Will there be any problem servicing the car? Will the factory warranty apply? I would think that would be unlikely as the US importer warranties the car. Your US Aero has km on the speedo already. Funny cars with kilometers don't have mph like mph cars have km on the inside ring.
