Agree...Ford products appeal to me more than the GM stable overall. GM is certainly improving as well. I drove a new Impala rental that was much improved over that last (horrible) iteration. But Ford's styling is restrained to a degree and I like some of the simplicity there. They need to do something -- which they are I understand -- with the Five Hundred. It could be a good seller I think, but it requires a better engine and more inspired styling. And bring the European Focus here -- it has received great reviews from the Euro press. The current U.S. Focus has past its expiration date when compared to the Japanese.
I drove a Pontiac G6 base rental last week and boy was it awful. Just shows what Saab is capable of doing with the same basic architecture and turn it into something great...in the 9-3ss. 200% different. Cross G6 rentals off your list, unless it's the GTP version, which I hear is OK.
