depends where it is on the drive, but a good disk editor might be worth trying.
i know norton used to be good, not sure what is good these days.
on the mac side, i like data rescue, by prosoft.
check the windows area of http://www.versiontracker.com or ask the googly one.
there is a good chance it was overwritten, or at least a portion of it was.
