AC evaporator leak

Has anyone had any luck sealing a pinhole leak in an AC evaporator with freon leak sealers? I was quoted $2000 for a replacement evaporator in my wife's 1998 Volvo V70. It is possible to replace the evap DIY for $500, but still a big job as the whole dash has to come out, and I still would need to go to a shop to drain the freon and refill. Since the leak is small I have been toying with the idea of using a leak sealer.
Thanks.
