Saab was first an aircraft company. After WWII, the need for fighter aircraft dropped off, and they started making cars to survive. At that time it would have been "Born from Piston Aircraft", but that doesn't have much of a ring.
Later Saab aircraft were jets, so it's not untrue.
If you want to push Saab as a technologically advanced car design, linking it with fighter aircraft is a pretty good way. Much better than the Lamborgini "Born From Tractors" ad. (Yes, Lamborgini is first and still a tractor maker).
